Toure – I was forced to leave

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has revealed that a falling out with a team-mate at Arsenal forced him to leave the club this summer.

The former Arsenal captain made his move to Eastlands after a lack of playing time, however the Ivory Coast international has gone on to suggest that the lack of games was due to a fellow player at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite refusing to name the player in question, many believe the culprit was fellow defender William Gallas after a reputed bust up at the start of 2009.

I had problems with certain players at Arsenal, especially one, whose name I will not say because I don t want to feed the controversy, said Toure.

I didn t have much time on the pitch last year because I think there s a player who got the manager believing that he and I had no understanding on the field. That did surprise me hugely.

I have never looked to put a spoke in anyone s wheel at all, My wish was to finish my career at Arsenal, but there are always banana skins.
