Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2018.
The Croatia international initially signed a five-year deal when joining Real in 2012, but has extended his contract by a further year.
Real Madrid C. F. announces the extension of Modric s contract, linking him to the club for the next four seasons, the Spanish club posted on their official Twitter account.
Modric, 28, played a key role in the club s UEFA Champions League success last term, achieved when they beat city rivals Atletico Madrid after extra time.
The former Dinamo Zagreb man also played 34 of the side s 38 La Liga fixtures last season.
Real paid a reported fee of £33.2million to Tottenham for Modric, ending their protracted chase of the player.
